影片《丢羊》故事发生在西北的普通山村，村民们不富裕却很知足，过着路不拾遗、夜不闭户的日子，羊倌张永宏一夜之间丢失4只本准备卖掉的羯羊，诙谐的故事由此开始……。On Christmas Eve in 1968 six-year-old army brat Clairee simultaneously learns the hard truth about Santa Claus and the realities of war. Her bullying older brother Mickey informs her that Santa insn't real and that their absent father is actually far away, serving his country in the Vietnam War。
